Must-Visit Unique Locations in Egypt for a Memorable Holiday

Egypt is a city that is filled with historical architecture and one of the most mysterious places in the world. It is a country linking northeast Africa to the Middle East. It is the site of one of the oldest civilizations in the world. For tourists seeking archaeological ruins and landmarks, Egypt is a go-to destination. It is famous for the great pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, and Egyptian museums which are the main attraction of tourists visiting Egypt, but other than these well-known locations, there are other unique places to visit on your next visit to Egypt.

Here is a list of 5 such unique places that will make your Egypt travel even more memorable-

1. Escape room Hurghada

The escape room of Hurghada is a challenging and adventurous activity in which a group of friends are locked inside a mysterious room and they have a limited time to get out of the room using their team spirit to find clues in the room to unlock the same. It is a must-try activity for people visiting Egypt as it can give an everlasting experience.

2. Tomb of Queen Nefertari

The Tomb of Queen Nefertari is one of the most spectacular tombs that one can visit on a trip to Egypt. The tomb of Queen Nefertari, QV66, is one of the largest in the Valley of the Queens. It is covered with paintings of Queen Nefertari around 520 square meters.

3. Cave Church

Cave church, also known as the Monastery of saint Simon is located in the Mokattam mountain in southeastern Cairo, Egypt. The area in which the church is located is also known as ‘garbage city’ because of the large population of garbage collectors living there. There are large carvings of biblical stories on the walls of the cave. The site provides a large area as a worship space for visitors.

4. Temple of Seti

The Temple of Seti, the best-known great temple, is also known as the Great Temple of Abydos and is built near a completely impressive site. It is one of the main historical sites in the city of Abydos. This temple was built by Pharaoh Seti and was described by archaeologist Flinders Petrie. The main attraction of this temple is the exquisite decoration around the walls of the temple and the soothing atmosphere.

5. Catherine’s Monastery

Saint Catherine’s Monastery is an eastern Orthodox Christian monastery located at the foot of Mount Sinai and is also the oldest continuously inhabited Christian monastery which was built in the 6th century. This monastery was built by Emperor Justinian I. This monastery predates the divisions of the Christian world, with its origins extending to late antiquity. This monastery is known for the old testament records, Moses received the Tablets of the Law. You can visit the Bedouin camp, and Lagona Dahab hotel, hike to Mount Sinai, have a look at the chapel, and visit the library, refectory, cells, and gardens during your visit to the Saint Catherine’s Monastery.
