Belgium is a country with very rich historical significance, illustrious architecture and numerous amazing food options and is located in northwestern Europe. It is an extremely multi-cultured country with a number of people of different nationalities in the country. One should visit Belgium at least once in a lifetime to experience the beauty of this country. But, visiting this country can be pretty dreadful to your pocket. It can be very expensive to visit this country without doing prior research on dos and don’ts.

Here are some tips that can help you save money on your trip to Belgium

1. Browse websites for cheap flight tickets

Expensive flight tickets can be one of the major sources which can affect your budget on your trip abroad. You should try to get cheap flight tickets by browsing on different websites for getting exciting offers which reduce the fare charges. Plan your trip to get early ticket reservation advantages. Keep yourself updated with the airline’s social media to get information about any new offers which can offer you discounts while reserving your tickets.

2. Use Public transportation

Travelling can be another major source of expense while on a trip abroad. The public transport in Belgium is pretty cheap and well organized which makes it a comparatively better alternative. You should try to use public transport for travelling from one place to another in the country to save funds as they are way cheaper than reserving a private taxi or cab for going from one place to another.

3. Avoid hotspot restaurants

Another major source of expense while travelling abroad is food. You should try and save your funds while selecting food options. You should try to stay at locations with equipped kitchens, eat in the local markets, and prefer local street food over famous fast food franchises. If you’re on a budget crunch, avoid restaurants with famous locations, get to a narrow less crowded street instead to find a more affordable restaurant.

4. Drink local beer from taps

Belgium has a special drinking culture. Belgian brewers were the first ones to brew a perfect beer. The price of beer in the country depends on its location. A major location can have very expensive options whereas cafes at comparatively less famous narrow side-lane locations will have cheap options.

5. Plan trips using public railways

During weekends plan your trips using public railways instead of any other alternative to save enormous money on travelling as during weekends the return tickets cost 50% less than usual on all Belgian trains. You should look for extra weekend deals or combo to avail better discounts on tickets.

6. Go shopping in comparatively less known places

Going on a trip abroad and keeping yourself shopping from its famous well-known markets is a hard thing to do. The urge to shop for specialities of the country you’re going to is a hard go, but it can turn out to be pretty expensive as well. You should try to shop from over the borders rather than the main city as things are comparatively way cheaper than the shops in the main city. This way you can shop for the things you need at a comparatively low cost.
